Coverage amounts differ from person to person, typically ranging from $300 to $1,000 per year, with the average being around $500. Dr. Stacey explains, “The amount of coverage depends on the person. It varies, but most insurance plans reimburse patients directly.”

Do Chiropractors Offer Direct Billing?

Some healthcare providers offer direct billing, but not all chiropractors do. Dr. Stacey shares, “I do not do direct billing because every insurance company is so different in what they will cover.  Sometimes, they will only pay the patient directly.  Instead, I provide a receipt that patients can easily submit themselves and will be reimbursed directly, often thru direct deposit.” Most insurance companies have mobile apps that make submitting claims quick and easy. Depending on your provider, reimbursements are processed through direct deposit or mailed as a cheque.

What If You Don’t Have Insurance?

In Ontario, chiropractors are not permitted to offer different pricing structures for insured and uninsured patients. This means that even if you don’t have coverage, you’ll still receive the same high-quality care at standard rates. You can schedule an appointment without worrying about verification or paperwork beforehand.
